Our Excavating Services

Lot Clearing & Demolition

Every new build starts with a clean slate. Our team provides safe, efficient demolition services — removing existing structures, debris, and obstacles to prepare your land for construction. We handle residential and commercial demolitions with full permitting and debris removal, ensuring your site is cleared and ready for the next phase of work.

Foundation Excavation & Backfill

A strong structure starts with a strong foundation. We specialize in foundation excavation and preparation, ensuring a stable base that meets engineering specifications and local code. Our crew provides precise digging, backfill, and grading so your home, addition, or commercial building has the structural support it needs to last for decades.

Grading & Drainage Solutions

Cape Cod’s unique soils and high water tables make proper drainage critical. We design and install trenching and drainage systems that direct water away from foundations, driveways, and low-lying areas. By channeling runoff back into the ground safely, we help prevent flooding, erosion, and long-term water damage to your property.

Utility Trenching

Whether you need trenches for water, sewer, electrical, or gas lines, our trained excavators deliver safe and efficient trenching services. We accommodate depths as required by your project and maintain full OSHA compliance at all times. With the right equipment and expertise, we ensure your utilities are installed securely and your site remains safe throughout construction.

Roads & Access Ways

We prepare safe, durable access routes for residential and commercial projects across Cape Cod. From private driveways to subdivision roads and commercial access ways, we handle clearing, grading, and compaction to ensure long-lasting, code-compliant results. With over 15 years of experience, our team knows how to build access routes that stand up to Cape Cod’s soils, weather, and heavy use.

Beach Nourishment

Cape Cod’s coastlines are constantly shifting. Our beach nourishment services are designed to restore and stabilize shorefront properties by replenishing sand and allowing it to move naturally with waves and water levels. These engineered solutions help protect fragile waterfronts, reduce erosion, and preserve the beauty and function of your beach for years to come.

Clear Steps, Superior Results

Our Excavating Project Process

Excavation is one of the most critical stages of any construction project. Our structured process keeps projects moving efficiently while ensuring compliance with Cape Cod’s strict environmental and building codes. From Eastham to Falmouth, homeowners and contractors trust Brundage Site Work for excavation done right the first time.
1

Engineering

Every successful excavation project starts with proper planning. Before work begins, engineered plans must be provided. If you don’t already have an engineer, our office can refer you to trusted Cape Cod professionals who understand local soils, permitting, and regulations.

2

Contact Us

Once we receive your engineered plans, one of our project managers will schedule a site visit. This allows us to walk the property, review conditions, and accurately define the scope of work for your estimate.
3

Contract

After reviewing your estimate, approval is required to move forward. A signed contract ensures your project is scheduled and allows us to begin preparing permit applications when necessary.
4

Scheduling

Once permits are secured, our office sets a projected start date. Scheduling depends on workload, machine availability, mobilization, and staffing, but we always communicate timelines clearly so you know what to expect.

5

Project Starts

As your start date approaches, our office staff will be in touch to confirm details and answer questions. Equipment may be mobilized ahead of time so excavation can begin smoothly on day one.

6

Inspections

Work performed by Brundage Site Work is inspected by the engineer who created the plans, and in many cases, by local town officials. This step ensures all excavation work meets state and town requirements.

7

Work Complete

After all inspections are passed, our crew completes backfilling and grading to stabilize your site. Once the contracted work is complete, we issue a final invoice and leave the property clean, safe, and ready for the next phase of construction.

What to Expect

Before the project
Every excavation job begins with a plan. Once your engineer provides site plans, Brundage Site Work prepares a detailed estimate tailored to your project. After contracts are signed and a deposit is received, our office handles the permitting process to keep your project compliant with state and local regulations. Once permits are secured, we’ll finalize scheduling, mobilize equipment, and confirm a project start date with you.
During & After the Project
Throughout the excavation process, most engineered site plans require inspections by both the town and the project engineer. Our team coordinates with all parties to ensure the work passes review the first time. After inspections are approved, Brundage Site Work completes the backfill, grading, and finishing steps necessary to stabilize your site. Once the work is complete, we leave the property clean, safe, and ready for the next phase of construction.
